Our Services

dry Haircuts

Our philosophy for cutting dry hair goes like this :
We love to work with the natural fall, shape, texture and thickness of hair. All headz  have different growth patterns aka cowlicks that are often hidden when wet. This will also help with never losing too much length or density.

Please arrive with clean, dry hair.

If you arrive with dirty hair or with product in your hair, we will charge for a wash.

Wash & blow dry available upon request when booking an appointment.

Wash & blow dry booked as an additional service.

Cash Payment Preferred

We impose a surcharge of $2 on all credit and debit card transactions, which is not greater than our cost of acceptance.  We have a ATM conveniently located in the salon

as of february 10th, 2023 face masks are optional to wear in the salon. your stylist will wear one if you prefer upon request.

Talking Headz then creates a teaching program to help grow their skills.  We always have senior stylists available, if help is needed. This is a discounted service as you understand this is a learning and growing experience for the apprentice.

Junior stylists are fully licensed and trained but with less experience on the floor than senior stylists. After graduation, they undergo a one year apprenticeship with head stylist, Heather DeForrest before becoming a full time junior stylist.

~Lash Extension Information~

If you are interested in booking a consultation before your lash appointment, please call the salon or message Melissa on instagram @lash_bat for an online consultation.

Consultations are recommended before your appointment if you haven’t had lash extensions before, have questions about the process or if you would like an adhesive patch test.

Lash refills go by week. 1 Week Refill, 2 Week Refill and 3 Week Refill. Anything after 3 weeks is considered a Full Set. Melissa is currently only performing refills for sets that they have done. If you have a lash set from another technician, Melissa will not perform a lash refill on you. If you would like a full set by Melissa and currently have lashes from another technician, please call the salon to book your appointment. You will be charged for current lash set removal plus a full set.

A $25 deposit is required when booking all Lash Refill appointments (1 week, 2 weeks & 3 weeks). A 50$ deposit is required when booking all Full Set appointments.

If you no-show or cancel under 48 hours from your appointment time, your deposit will be forfeited and you are required to leave a new deposit to book another appointment.

# WHY ARE COLOR CONSULTATIONS IMPORTANT?

We require all new clients and returning clients who have not had their colored by us in 6+months to come in for a complimentary consultation. Consultations are important for both the stylist and the client. During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your hair goals and any questions you may have. Your stylist will be able to examine your hair and inform you on the process necessary to achieve your hair goals. A strand test will also be taken, if needed. After your consult, we can book your color appointment for a future date. We are not able to guarantee same day color service, as most color services range from 2-4 hours, and our stylists are often fully booked for the day.
# WHY DO WE ASK THAT CLIENTS COME IN WITH CLEAN, DRY HAIR FOR SINGLE PROCESSES?
Oil and product buildup can create too much of a barrier between the hair and color depositing. We only ask for  dirty hair when using lightener.

# WHY DO WE ASK FOR CLIENTS TO COME IN WITH DIRTY HAIR FOR DOUBLE PROCESSES, AND WHAT DO WE DEFINE AS DIRTY HAIR?

Greasy hair is the recommended hair condition, as your hair’s natural oils are well equipped to resist the bleach process, protecting the scalp from chemical damage. We recommend bleaching hair at least 72 hours post-hair wash for ultimate protection. Dirty hair means natural, greasy hair without product.

# WHY INVEST IN SULFATE FREE SALON SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER?

Using a sulfate-free shampoo is a good way to both help retain the natural moisture in your hair, as well as prolong the life of your hair color. It’s also a good option for those with easily-irritated scalp, as sulfates can cause even more dryness and itching.

# WHY WAIT 72 HOURS TO WASH YOUR HAIR AFTER A COLOR PROCESS?

It takes up to three days for the cuticle layer to fully close, which traps the color molecule, allowing for longer lasting hair color.

# WHY WASH HAIR IN COLD WATER AFTER A CREATIVE COLOR PROCESS?

To keep your new hair color vivid and bright, we advise you  to wash your hair with the coldest water you can tolerate. Cold water keeps the hair cuticles closed, which prevents the color fading too quickly.
